Yvonne Najera - Hola!
I am from El Paso, Texas
and relatively new to the New Bern
area. It is quite the change; however the shift has been made simple due to the
beauty and quaintness of this city. My husband is a medical provider at the
Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point and I have three children: Danielle 20, Daniel
16, and Dylan 4. I graduated from the University of Texas San
Antonio with a degree in Elementary Education. I
am excited about beginning my third year at AH Bangert Elementary. I look
forward to working with you and your child
and to have a fun
and exciting year of learning!
Brandy Carpenter - Let me tell you a little about myself, I was born and raised in New Bern. I graduated from ECU with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. I am currently in my second year working towards a Masters Degree for K-12 Language and Literacy through UNCW. I did my Student Teaching in 3rd grade at Roger Bell Elementary. I have taught for 6 years at Bangert Elementary. I am married to my best friend, Phillip and we just had our first baby boy in July. We are very excited about our new bundle of joy! I love to go on boat rides and fishing. I am sure my interests will drastically change due to our new love.
Karina Romanelli- I would like to deeply thank everyone for the warm welcome I have received! I am thrilled to be a part of the Bangert family! I was raised in the Connecticut and Rhode Island areas. My grandparents lived three streets away in a small beach community. As a child we would walk to the water, go into town for groceries and have fresh fruits and vegetables from my grandmother’s garden and area farms. New Bern shares these same qualities and feels like home already!
For the past twenty-one years I have taught in the Charlotte area. First, I taught kindergarten through second grades in Matthews. Then I taught in other teachers’ classrooms as a curriculum coordinator. Again, I was in kindergarten through second grades; but in Union county schools just east of Charlotte. First grade is an incredibly important learning time! This is a time where we grow tremendously from early readers to readers of beginning chapter books! We go from basic counting to developing a real understanding of what numbers mean and how to use them to solve word problems. I am so excited to be a part of your child’s growth this year! Your child is getting ready to soar!
